WALKATHON 2014

by Saint Saviour High School

Richard Russo

We chose St. Saviour for Angelina because of it's size and it's commitment to educating young women for almost a whole century. We were very impressed with the emphasis the teachers, guidance counselors, principal, etc. put on individualized attention to each and every girl. Like the principal told us at one of the open houses we attended..."we are a small school because we choose to remain a small school." Angelina has already made several new friends and is thrilled with her Sophomore, Junior and Senior sisters. We really do feel we made the right choice for our girl by picking St. Saviour High School. If you have a daughter coming of high school age soon I urge you to check it out and attend an open house. You won't be sorry. This is our first fundraiser for St Saviour school. Our goal is to raise $250.00. No donation is too small should the spirit move you. On behalf of Angelina, all the St. Saviour girls and faculty, thank you! Angelina Russo...Class of 2018. Didn't have a pic of her in her uniform since school just started last week, and the resolution on the pictures my new camera takes is so high they wouldn't upload, so I attached a pic of her the way I would always like to remember her...my sweet little girl!

Saint Saviour High School is hosting its annual Walkathon fundraiser to kick off the school year. We will walk around prospect park on Friday Sept. 26.  This year, we are raising money to help make building improvments to our over 100 year old building.

Since 1917, Saint Saviour has embraced the vision of its founders, the School Sisters of Notre Dame: the pursuit of academic excellence and service within an inclusive, diverse community.

Members of the St. Saviour Community believe that:

  • a girl can develop into an empowered young woman to make changes in the world
  • a Catholic Education develops the whole person – spiritually, intellectually, emotionally, socially, and physically
  • a strong academic foundation allows one to reach her full potential
  • the student-teacher relationship creates bonds that reach and enhance many aspects of the person
  • diversity and acceptance of all people allows for growth in the community
  • reaching out and helping others enhances the life of the giver
  • our traditions make us strong and move us into the future
  • the St. Saviour sisterhood lasts forever
